Interpreters Needed! Do You Speak English and Other Languages Fluently? Your Skill Could be of Help to Newcomers!

If you are fluent in English as well as another language, you may want to consider joining the Translation and Interpretation Program (TIP) at Regina Open Door Society (RODS).
Interpreters must attend a mandatory Training session, so they become familiar with the expectations, policy and procedures required to provide services to RODS clients.
New interpreters will be registered once a month.
TIP is a voluntary based program which acquires volunteer interpreters to provide services, which break language barriers for immigrant and refugee newcomers. TIP is committed to meeting the needs of newcomers by offering programs and services that enable different language speakers to achieve their goals and participate fully in the larger community.
*Note: As of July 2016, there is no longer a Translation (written) program. TIP currently only offers interpretation (verbal) services.
Visit the RODS website at http://rods.sk.ca/pages/volunteer-with-tip for more information.
The following languages are currently in great demand:
Burmese
Karen
Urdu
Somali
Turkish
Mandarin
Tagalog
Ukrainian
Vietnamese
Nepali
Tigrigna
Arabic
Speakers of other languages are also needed, but the interpreter may not be called to provide service as often.
If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please email or
